The funding also covers businesses in the electric mobility and sharing sector.<\/p>\n<p>If you dream of opening your own electric vehicle sharing or rental business in your city, don\u2019t miss the chance to <strong>take advantage of Resto al Sud funding.<\/strong><br \/>\nSo let\u2019s look in detail at what it is and how it works.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Resto al Sud?<\/h2>\n<p>Resto al Sud is the incentive from <strong>Invitalia, the National Development Agency of the Ministry of Economy<\/strong>, to fund new businesses in Southern Italy and beyond.<\/p>\n<h3>You can apply for Resto al Sud funding if you live in:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Abruzzo;<\/li>\n<li>Basilicata;<\/li>\n<li>Calabria;<\/li>\n<li>Campania;<\/li>\n<li>Molise;<\/li>\n<li>Apulia;<\/li>\n<li>Sardinia;<\/li>\n<li>Sicily;<\/li>\n<li>the earthquake zone of Central Italy (Lazio, Marche, Umbria);<\/li>\n<li>the smaller sea, lagoon and lake islands of Central and Northern Italy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>You can access the funding if:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>you are between 18 and 55 years old;<\/li>\n<li>you live in the areas listed above;<\/li>\n<li>including if you own a business set up after 21 June 2017.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>You cannot access the Resto al Sud fund if:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>you own a business that was already operating before 21 June 2017;<\/li>\n<li>you receive other state incentives for self-employment;<\/li>\n<li>you have a permanent employment contract (you can apply, but if you are successful you will have to leave your job);<\/li>\n<li>you have had an active VAT number in the 12 months before applying, in activities similar to the one for which you are requesting Resto al Sud funding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Which sectors you can invest in with Resto al Sud:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Industry, crafts, processing of agricultural products, fishing;<\/li>\n<li>Services;<\/li>\n<li>Tourism<\/li>\n<li>Retail<\/li>\n<li>Freelance professional activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.invitalia.it\/cosa-facciamo\/creiamo-nuove-aziende\/resto-al-sud\/faq\">For details, see the FAQ page on the Invitalia website.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Why open a business in the electric mobility sector?<\/h2>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/osservatoriosharingmobility.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/VII-Rapporto-nazionale-sharing-mobility.pdf\">the Sharing Mobility Observatory Report mentioned above<\/a>, in 2022 <strong>total vehicle sharing turnover in Italy exceeded 178 million euros<\/strong>, double the 2020 figure.<\/p>\n<p>Three services in particular are growing:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>E-kick scooter sharing<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Station-based car sharing;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Free-floating bike sharing <\/strong>(bikes can be parked anywhere within suitable areas, even without a dedicated station).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>However, the report also shows that growth so far has been stronger in Northern Italy than in the Centre and South.<br \/>\nIn the North, there are 36 cities served by sharing services. In the South there are 19, and in Central Italy 11.<\/p>\n<p>So while the overall trend is upward,<strong> the Centre and South are open markets<\/strong>, where developing electric vehicle sharing and rental businesses can be particularly interesting.
